Tax summary and filing reports

Finova's tax summary report consolidates all your taxable transactions in one place — making it easy to file GST, sales tax, or income tax returns.

What the tax summary includes

  • Total taxable sales by tax rate
  • Total tax collected from customers
  • Total input tax paid to suppliers
  • Net tax payable or refundable
  • Breakdown by tax type (GST, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax)

Generating the tax summary

1

Go to Reports → Tax Summary.

2

Select the tax period (monthly, quarterly, or custom).

3

Filter by tax type if needed (e.g., only GST, or only withholding tax).

4

Review the figures and click Export to PDF to save for filing.

Filing your return

Use the exported tax summary as a reference when logging into your country's tax portal. The figures in Finova match what you need to enter.

💡

Tip: Set up tax rates correctly in Settings → Tax Rates before creating invoices. This ensures every invoice automatically applies the right tax and appears correctly in the summary.

⚠️

Note: Finova generates reports based on the data you enter. If invoices are missing or tax rates were set up incorrectly, the tax summary will be wrong. Review your setup with an accountant before your first filing.
